Figure/Plot

Description

Collection of observed modulation rates by NaI experiments (+global average) as of the end of 2021.

Similar to above, but the DAMA observation is replaced with the modulation expected for the DM model given in the figure for a range of QFs. Purpose is to demonstrate how much an observation might change given different crystal dependent quenching factors.

The exclusion and discovery power of SABRE South for a DAMA/LIBRA-like signal. The shaded regions indicate 1 sigma statistical uncertainty bands. SABRE South is expected to reject the DAMA/LIBRA modulation at 3 sigma (in the case of null results) or confirm it at 5 sigma (in the event of observation of a compatible modulation) within 2 years.

90% exclusion curve for the SABRE South experiment after 3 years of data taking assuming a background model in the 1–6 keVee and an exposure mass of 50 kg. The best fits to the DAMA/LIBRA data for this model in both the low and high-mass region are shown in pink.
